Do you have to apply for a Spanish passport separately?  Presumably your Spanish DNI is valid for travelling to the UK for now, but once Brexit is complete you'll probably need to show a full passport, I'm guessing...

I shall apply in September for a Spanish passport, it will cost me just over 20€ and like my D.N.I. card, will last for life.

Little bit cooler today in the medianías, a bit of a break, they say, before the heat returns on Wednesday ...

on the coast it mghtn't seem much different but it's welcome up here, I can tell you, because it's been much hotter than down by the sea!

So much so, indeed, that there were two mountain forest fires yesterday, both in the north, one in the La Esperanza area and the other in the La Victoria hills. At one point the TF24 La Esperanza road was closed to help firefighting. I've not seen an update yet this morning but as of last evening both were formally under control and the road had been reopened.

It's like a tinder box in the hills ...

30ºc here in Valverde, we are at a similar altitude to Holme Moss,  cooler on the coast though.

It's fabulous today in the western hills ... 28º in the shade, a hint of coolness in the air. A brief "tregua" (respite/truce) as they say before the heat returns tomorrow or Wednesday, but again shouldn't be a major heatwave. We have a yellow alert for tomorrow afternoon only for temperatures of 34º ...

The southern third of the mainland has it bad though ... 45º as a high pressure front in Morocco has sent hot air northwards. They're calling it "the oven of Spain" ...

This is the forecast tomorrow, approaching 50º in some parts ...
