There are plenty of oil rigs to be seen, if one would only look.  We left Santa Cruz today and there were three on display; here are two and a bonus building.

Then coming in to La Puerta de la Luz, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, more oil rigs:

These gratuitous oil rig photos have been obtained for you by Myrtle.

Thanks Myrtle, you have no idea how many hours I have spent trying to upload some photos of them! :)

There are now five rigs in and around Santa Cruz. They have been joined by an oil rig rescue ship and a number of other oil related supply ships with what looks like an Ocean going tug. I know no photos sorry. I do try honest! :-[

That's okay, at least you are keeping on top of them and keeping us informed.

Look! We've got one as well. Making it's way up Belfast Lough for a refurb at Harland & Wolff.

[countdown=01,06,2021,13,30][/countdown] until I return to Tenerife!

Michael that is a very handsome one!

Saw another one off the coast of Santa Cruz harbour yesterday but was driving so could not take a pic.

Yours is magnificent.

I was in the north today so snatched this gratuitous picture of a oil rig from a speeding vechicle.

NAH

:thanx: Myrtle. I'm so glad you've revived this thread, but could you send one of them rigs down south in about three weeks time please....I've so missed seeing an oil rig for the last two years whilst sitting on my balcony....I haven't been sat there for the entire two years without moving before someone says something  :D

I can't believe this thread was started more than two years ago.

Myrtle works tirelessly to keep you abreast of all the news on oil rigs.  Today's news is about a17,000-tonne oil rig blown ashore on Isle of Lewis.  The linked article includes a very nice video of the oil rig doing nothing other than being stranded.  You can't pay for journalism like that.

Clear your Telegraph cookies, I had to link to the original source which is the Telegraph.

That's because nobody would pay anyway. Myrtle: perhaps you should sign up to this forum

Where else would you have a section dedicated to photos of mud pumps?  :wowspring:
