Summer Beer and Tapas Festival in Los Abrigos tomorrow, Saturday 11 August, 11am -10pm

It's going to be a hot weekend, as we know, so many might think the perfect treat might be to be by the seaside, with a beer ... and this is just what Los Abrigos is offering in Summer Beer and Tapas Festival, tomorrow Saturday, 11 August. Some 14 restaurants along the Calle de la Marina - the avenida marítima around the harbour - will be offering traditional food and cañas for just €1 between 11am and 10pm. For those who last the day, there will be an open-air dance to round it all off. JA

Brilliant - just what I was looking for - I've got this kid I teach English to on Saturday mornings and I'm always looking for things to do
- last week we went to watch the swimming race in La Caleta (heard about it here). And next week we're hiking up a mountain
- and this looks just the ticket for this Saturday because the poor lad will be a mite hung over after the Arona Festival tonight in Las Americas.

We've been all over the Tenerife over the last couple of months - I sometimes wonder what people think ...... two men gallivanting and giggling around the island ..... a balding 50 year old in pink trousers engaged in intense conversation with 19 year old hunk.
Anyway he seems to enjoy the lessons.
