Drugged driver kills man crossing road in Santa Cruz

A young man who was knocked down in a hit and run incident in Santa Cruz around 10pm last night died in Candelaria Hospital this morning from the head injuries he received in the accident. Emergency services say that the 21-year-old was crossing Calle Alcalde Mandillo Tejera when the car ran into him, the driver fleeing the scene. The car was later found near Parque de las Indías by Policía Local, and the driver handed himself in shortly afterwards. He has tested positive for drugs.
