The Magma Centre has announced a Tribute Fest Concert on 4 November featuring U2, Bruce Springsteen and George Michael tribute acts. To be clear, because it's caused confusion previously, this is a tribute act evening, not the real performers. The concert starts at 8pm in the Magma Centre, and tickets costing from €30 can be bought online HERE , and there is more information about the concert and performers HERE. Only those over 18 years of age will be allowed in, and there's a €5 charge for anyone requiring to use the Magma Centre's car park for the concert. (please see HERE for live links)

I don't think I'd pay to hear George Michael now.  Be a bit quiet.  :closet:

They might have @warbey just off stage, channeling the full set.... :giggle:

Nobody is Springsteen.  Except Springsteen.

Likewise U2. Personally I could never see the appeal of tribute acts.

[countdown=01,06,2021,13,30][/countdown] until I return to Tenerife!

I think if they're good then it's fair enough. I'm thinking more like the guys above, not the ones in every bar in Tenerife.

It gives people a chance to hear the music they like played live. Bands like U2 & Springsteen don't come around very often and when they do it's usually very expensive. There's a market for good tributes.  :tiphat:

Once I would have agreed but not now.

about 20 years ago we went into a bar in Tenerife and were lucky to get a good stageside table.

A few minutes before the Act came on stage I looked towards the Bar and saw the act standing there.

I got goose bumps and being somewhat cynical, said to myself  No way will He sound like him.

But he did and it's still a pleasure 20 years on to see him and to say hi.

A good few years on we saw Elton John and I rate Trevor Martin highly  for his impersonation, so there are some (not many)

good ones about.
(I reckon U.B.40  would be almost impossible).
