The Pink Parrot cafe in Las Galletas has now sold and will be changing hands at the end of this month, July.  I don't know anything about the new owners except that they are English, living in the Golf del Sur, and have apparently said they will keep the same menu.

Martin and Lillian, who have run the Pink Parrot for nearly five years, will be returning to the UK at the beginning of September to be nearer to family.  This really is the end of an era and I don't know what I'll do with myself when they're no longer just across the way  :kcry:

Lillian, Martin, if you see this, thank you for all your hospitality, support and friendship.  I will miss you very much, but wish you all the very best for your return home and your new life there.   :thankso:  :glsham:

We went a lot of times for the friday fish and chips night and loved it eatch time.

Hope the new owners do it just as good.
And hope Martin and Lilian have it good in their new future in the UK.

Well, it's their last day today.  It seems to have come round so fast!  I'll be down there to see whether they've any breakfast makings left as soon as I've had my morning coffee and come to a bit.

What a watershed ...

I really hope the new people will be able to continue in the same vein, but I know it won't ever be quite the same.

Crikey, 'Roosters' from GdS closed a while back after having been there for a good few years, after that it was the 'Oyster Catcher' and in June that had closed as well.

For those that partially know San Blas, Roosters was just across the road from tabboos, facing the Vincci hotel.

Well, I've done it!  The last two days I have been to the Pink Parrot with my parents for a brekkie, and I can report that it is very nice  :D  The new people are friendly and funnily enough I have already met Brenda before, although it took us a while to place each other.  Three or four years ago, I used to go for breakfast quite often at Matlocks in San Eugenio when she worked there.  Apparently it was the extra egg she remembered
