Talking about swimming in los cris bay, there was an Irish girl that we used to meet up with in The rovers return(before it became friends 2)and she used to be an Olympic swimmer in her youth, she used to sit on the terrace of the bar all day and into the night, and drink around 16 pints of cider followed by jeigermeister. But you would see her every morning at around 6.00 am swimming from the bay to las americas and back . her name was Julie and her and her hubby owned a golf course in ireland. she said that they couldn't get pork scratching over there, so walsall being in the centre of the pork scratching industry, i used to send about 20 large bags over every couple of months :yummy: the postage alone was £60 :giggle:

Arona Ayuntamiento has announced that the bay swim has been cancelled because of "adverse weather" forecasts for this weekend.

That's a shame. I was going to watch it.

Janet

It's so odd because I'm not aware of any "adverse weather" forecast ...

:ermm:

It did make me think, because you do usually say about weather conditions.

I reckon they have advance notice of a "bloom" ... they're saying the sea at El Duque is brown at the moment, and if the currents are thought to take it south ...
