It certainly looks like a shark but I don't see why he had to hurt it.  Do we know if the shark survived?

I got the impression he reacted instinctively ... I think I would have too! No news about the shark though.

edit: just rewatched the video ... it had its bloody mouth open already to bite him!! ufff

I mean, what are the chances? Perfectly timed and clear filming and I would've thought that anyone in that position would not just carry on filming......it would be the last thing on your mind..........

It looks to me like a GoPro strapped to his head.  I think carry on filming would be the default action.
