The Oktoberfest was a great success a couple of years ago in the Costa Adeje, and it's being repeated this year on Saturday and Sunday, 11 and 12 October, but in Arona this time. The traditional German beer festival will have Canarian and German food, Canarian wines and, of course, German beers, as well as traditional music and dancing, all in Calle Texas, in the Pepa Food Market parking area to the rear of the CC Oasis Pasarela. Really? Who says so?

Janet

oh we have to say that ... there were quite a few people through the doors, anyway.

But this time, it's just two days rather than ten, and not in Adeje. Wonder why ...

Perikles do you want to borrow OH's noise cancelling headphones?

Thanks, but no need, because there is absolutely no chance that I'm going to try it again. I do wonder about the people who 'organized' the last one. Perhaps they had actually been to the real one, in which case their attempts at replicating the mood were a catastrophic and totally inept failure. If they had not been, then they bloody well should go and find out what it involves.  It most certainly does not involve that eclectic mix of music at that noise level which is probably illegal.

Another example of Canarian total failure to organize a piss-up in a brewery tent.

That, or they should call it something else - Shitty Deafening Moodless Bierfest perhaps  :great:

wot I don't understand is this thing about German sausages. I keep getting told they are fantastic, but I have never found one that I liked ... in Germany or out of it!

Try the little Nuremberger brats from LIDL.  They're fantastic.  Just need a little sauerkraut and beer.

Or try the ones in the last stall down the right hand passage at La Pepa next to the vegetarian guy. They are really good quality,  freshly made and delicious.

Don't we have a La Pepa thread?

Yes the vegan stall next to the freshly made German sausage stall. Down the aisle with the sushi guy at the top next to the fruit and veg.

I'm not a veggie but I've eaten his stuff a couple of times just because it's really good.
