Going digital in Tenerife - officially

I am jumping on the bandwagon because of this:  Canary Islands Customs Procedures Simplified

I have printed my number, now need to go to the Ayuntamiento.

This is cool... in Arona's "Carpeta Ciudadana"  I can not only print receipts for all my previous years' cat tax, this year's has just shown up in there with the option to pay it online with a credit card!  Yay, this makes life sooo much easier

A word to the wise:  the codes you generate which you take to one of the offices of bureaucracy are only good for 10 days.  I've had to generate new ones and we are going back tomorrow to present the filing cabinet.

It's been busy so I am just getting around to trying out my digital signature. 

First question:  is my signature the number I generated to take to the ayuntamiento?

Second question:  Has anybody in Guía de Isora tried to get on their Carpeta Ciudadana?   When I try by clicking "Acceso usuarios con certificado digital" I get

Under "Cómo darme de alta" when I click on "con certificado digital" I get:

I guess from that you get that I think they have not actually implemented the service.  Thoughts?

No  . The number you generated online needs to be taken with your ID to the ayuntamiento, cultural centre, social security office or hacienda. After this is done you need to revisit the link I gave in my first post and put in your NIE and the same reference number. Only then are you offered to download the digital certificate to your computer. Once the certificate is downloaded and saved in your browser the enter link on the website you've been trying will just automatically let you in.

If you have taken the code to the ayuntamiento already and 24 hours later it isn't working to let you download the digital certificate you should go back.

BINGO!!! Thanks Nova, that worked.   

Somehow I missed out on that step.  Now I have to figure out what the hell to do, but I'm in.

Edit:  I have figured out how to order the certificado de residencia para viajar.  That alone is worth the hassle.  I am sure there is lots of other stuff I can do over time.  Whoopee!!!!

What a doddle!! We got letters telling us it was time to re-empadron, and so before we went to renew our registration, requested a digital certificate and took the code with us to the town hall. There the clerk put us in the computer with the code and when we got home we had an email waiting with a link to finalise the process. That ended with us downloading the digital cert - god knows where to because I can't find it but my browser recognizes it ... and as confirmation that all parts of today were a success, we now have electronically requested and received new empadronamientos!

And I've emailed them to myself so I even have them on my iphone in case anyone needs to see one while I'm out!

Just told the wife about this Janet and she's scratching her head, As far as she understands you only need to do it once unless of course you move out of the area covering your present empadron, then you would have to re-empadron in the new area
