Will bullfighting survive in modern Spain?

To me, anybody who supports bullfighting is less than human, and Spain as a country will remain a bunch of subhuman savages until they ban it. Here is an interesting article. Nice eyepatch though.

It won't survive if the bulls keep doing as well as they're doing right now in Madrid. The corrida has been cancelled after the three toreros were put out of action, two gored, and one with a really bad knee injury ...  :great:

You will need a strong stomach to see the pictures in this DM article about three bulls who fought back.  Warning, a lot of animal blood.  The 'men' involved deserved what they got.  The animals did not.

I have just been reading about the bullfighting accidents, which cheered me up. In El PaĆs, the articles about bullfighting are not classified under sport, but culture.

Culture? It widens my previous concept of that word.

I'm happy to rely on my own moral compass and feel no compulsion whatsoever to defer to other people's 'culture and traditions'.

In what universe is this acceptable?

Social media is going nuts over this.

An absolute wrong. Indefensible from any and every conceivable viewpoint. Not to condemn it is, as I said above, moral cowardice.

Back to the petition, I just signed it.  That is one of the most repugnant things I have ever come across.

The Grauniad thinks the recession will do more than anything else to get bullfighting off the "culture" agenda.
