Body found in San Isidro of man whose throat had been cut

Another horrific news story, I'm afraid. The body of a 41-year-old man identified as RJPM has been found in San Isidro. His throat had been cut. The dreadful discovery was made by a family member in Calle Juan Pablo II at midday yesterday. The dead man was a resident of Arona. The Guardia Civil are investigating and say they are not ruling out any possibility. JAA

Police have confirmed that this case is one of murder and are seeking his killers. The poor man has now been identified as 40-year-old Rogelio Pérez, originally of Los Cristianos. That town, and Los Abrigos where his mother's family come from, are said to be in mourning for him since he was popular and well known in the area. There will be a funeral mass at 3.30 this afternoon in the Nuestra Señora del Carmen church, in Church Square, Los Cristianos.  JAA
