I think the judicial removing from office of the Mayor of Arona bodes well for the future of politics here.
Arrogant barefaced corruption gets a kick in the face, that story still has a long way to run.

as a sideline (because I'm not going to be allowed to do anything "political"), did you hear about the mayor of Valle Gran Rey the other day? Four years' prison sentence for similar sorts of things ...

OK, well it's Adeje radio, and I'm not allowed to be political, so I think I'll suggest ...

Callao Salvaje deserves a mention because not only did the beach finally get finished, it (along with Playa Paraiso) was at last adopted by Adeje after a wait of decades. It does show that things eventually get done here!

The Illegal letting situation is still rumbling on and now there's a new moratorium because the law in Parliament needs time to be clarified ... so no doubt that deserves a mention, but will probably be a story for Christmas 2013's roundup!

I'm going to try to plug deaths from cold water shock.

Absence of pateras and cayucos is a good one ... as is, sadly, crime and unemployment  ... the economic situation related to the latter being one cause of the former!

The fire, yes, that was serious, and raises questions that still haven't been answered about the various levels of responsibility, and whether we should have our own water plane ... and is perhaps particularly relevant given the recent news about the proposed 75% cut in national park funding for 2013 ...

and seeing as it's Adeje radio, perhaps the World Architecture Festival award for the Plaza de EspaƱa ...

I'm probably only going to have 5 minutes!! :D
