The Spanish peninsular regions of Málaga, Murcia and Almería have been experiencing torrential rainfall since Thursday, reaching up to 200 litres per square metre in Cádiz.  Hundreds of people in Andalucia have had to evacuate their homes and flash flooding has so far killed eight people across the three regions including a 9-year old girl.

The mayor of Villanueva del Rosario has explained that some houses couldn't even be seen because the water had reached 4 metres high in some places!

However, the red alert for these areas has now been reduced to yellow as the rains move away northwards towards Catalunya and the Balearics.

And here in Tenerife, we're crying out for rain!
