This was 40 years ago . . . . . . has much changed.

Andrew Sachs talking about being asked to do Manuel
QuoteWhat was the first conversation you had with Cleese about Fawlty Towers?
"He was keen to have a waiter who wasn't very good, not very good at English, didn't know anything. So when he asked me to do it I said: "What sort of waiter?" And he replied: "A Spanish waiter." And I said: "I don't think I can do a Spanish accent. Can you make it a German waiter instead?" And he said: "No! You'd be very good at things if you were German. He's got to be Spanish.""

there was a slush fund, and Bárcenas siphoned some off ... that's what the court has decided. Bárcenas and his wife are to appear in court on 10 April to answer the judge ...

With El Mundo alleging that Bárcenas paid €343,700 to Rajoy over two decades, it could get interesting.

Oh! what tangled webs we weave! But I have every faith that justice will not be done where it should be done. I think the only thing the Spanish people have to look forward to is the spectacle of the political in fighting to see who becomes the token PP scapegoat because I just can't see any Spanish politician falling on their sword freely.

Amazing things are happening in Spain.

Two Presidents of first division football clubs have resigned. One for being a thief, and actually being convicted to 7 years in prison, and the other for generally accepted and commonly practiced  fraudulent activity.

Who knows? maybe one day we might see our first politician resign? I doubt it though.

Well, one has ... but not for corruption. Seems the deeper in you get, and of course if you're actually guilty, the less the chance. THIS one was not corrupt, and it was all a joke anyway ... allegedly ...

Mother, daughter held after Spain politician shot dead

May I be the first to comment that it should be Spanish, not Spain?

Anyway, woman loses job at council, she and her mother are arrested for shooting dead PP counsellor.  Will they also be had up for insulting a politician I wonder?

Well, one politician more or fewer is not really significant. What really annoys me is this ridiculous avoidance of adjectives which has become increasingly common in headlines. Why do they do this?
