The Spanish things we need ...

I love my visits to the UK and Germany, because they're "family", and because they feel "familiar" ... but they increasingly feel "less familiar"!

I love the trees, and rivers, and autumn, and ... and now I'm struggling ...

And when I'm away from Tenerife, I miss the language, the sound of it and the familiarity of it, and I found I couldn't understand some Scottish woman the other day on R4 ...

I might be going native ...

Anyway, HERE is the list of 10 Spanish things we all need! I can hit seven of them ... I don't do paella, and have no need of Tshirts and football scarves! What about you??

And can you think of any Spanish "essentials" that aren't on that list?

Delderek

Larios! , Ron Miel,  Barraquito  (Ok I know the last two are Canarian, but a bit of poetic licence):tiphat:

Janet

hombre, aquí somos Canarios ...

:great:

Myrtle Hogan-Lance

1, 7 and 8.

Though I am not too sure how happy I'd be living away from here in any case.

Nova

Fan, mop and wine & beer for me  :great:  I'd also add to the list a hob-top cafetera (though is that more Italian?), Spanish coffee and a toldo (sunblind) for my terrace.

It's so hard to find a decent cup of coffee in the UK at any price, yet in Tenerife there's great coffee everywhere for a little over €1 a cup!  In the supermarket, Douwe Egberts, Lavazza and whatever can't hold a candle to Mercadona's own brand.
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

Actually on that list a mop is the only one for me all the rest I can do without.

Now queso blanco de cabra, baraquito, yes @nova you are right about the coffee -  :great:

Janet

yes where's the cheese??! And the tapas!
