La Orotava Winter Festival this weekend

The La Orotava Winter Festival was inaugurated last year by the Tenerife Cabildo in the hope that it would be the setting for a new event fusing fashion, gastronomy, and leisure. The event, now in its second year, forms part of Tenerife's official Christmas campaigns and will be held this Saturday and Sunday, 25 and 26 November,

There will be tapas, sweets, traditional foods, music, comedy, fashion shows, jewellery, and much more, all on display from some 50 local businesses. La Orotava's economic development councillor Felipe David Benítez says that La Orotava at Christmas is a brilliant place "because it offers absolutely everything, and this weekend it will be a showcase of everything that the town can offer at this time of year". There will inevitably be some traffic disruption in the town for the event, the programme for which is below (click to see full size).

Due to the weather forecast for this weekend, the Winter Festival has been postponed until 10-11 December.
