Walker dies after Masca barranco fall

A 57-year-old Norwegian walker died yesterday afternoon after falling while walking in Masca barranco. Emergency services say that they were called out at 2pm with reports that the woman had fallen some seven metres and was badly injured. In what were very windy conditions, bomberos had to carry her on a stretcher to a safe place for a GES helicopter to land, and she was flown to Adeje helipad but sadly died from her injuries while still in transit, and ambulance crew could do nothing but confirm her dead on arrival.
