Christmas concert with the Tony Washington Gospel Singers in Los Cristianos auditorium

Gospel music fans are in for a treat this Christmas because Arona Ayuntamiento has announced the Tony Washington Gospel Singers will be performing in the Los Cristianos Infanta Leonor auditorium on Friday, 15 December. The concert starts at 9pm and tickets, costing €15 or €18 depending on seat zones (see HERE), are now available from the Cultural Centre (Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm) or on the day of the concert from the auditorium box office.

The Ayuntamiento says that this is the first time the group has sung in Spain even though they have been regular visitors to Germany, France and Italy since 1992, being known as pioneers of the "Gospel & Rhythm" style, an unstereotypical fusion of a capella hymn-singing with a powerful rhythmic base, a gospel form that is described as one of the most original and creative artistic expressions in the south of the United States, continually evolving and influenced by the latest trends in Motown, R&B and Rap.
