Good luck NAH!  Rooting for you!!

NAH

I'd like to thank those that offered serious help & suggestions and will obviously keep you all updated on my progress :)

Looks like it could be fun draining the tank as I can't find any drain off point. The only thing that is obvious appears to be a pressure safety release valve. Nothing else obvious on the bottom of the tank that look remotely like a drain off point.

Well we've purchased a replacement hot water tank of approximately the same physical imesnsions and the same volume, No I just have to find out how to drain the existing tank for the fun to start.

Perikles I'll be starting at 10 in the morning and expect you round to help before lunch :D

Guess what steps I'm going to take - bloody great big ones into the desert!  :D

But it should drain by unscrewing the cold water input hose. I think the key issue is whether or not the fittings on the tank are identical so that you don't have to fart around drilling new holes.

In the absolute worst case that you need to call a plumber, nothing has been lost by buying the new tank because he (she? yer right) would have had to go and buy one anyway, and he would have charged more for it.  :great:

Decided not to wait for Perikles to arrive so started at 10:50 this morning.

With only one trip to Chafiras to get the bits which were missing out of the boiler box and a replacement braided flexi hose (took the opportunity to replace this while changing the tank) the new hot water tank is not in situ and NAHOH is once again able to do the washing up without having to boil the kettle to get hot water.

Please can you tell me about this 'FART' around business? Is it related to 'FANNYING' about, wott @Nova gets up to.......or are you a graduate of the Nova Howard fucking school of English? :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Kind regards,
KB.

Kingy, fannying about is aimless while farting around generally involves a purpose.

Sorry about that. Hard to believe but I had an urgent appointment at a tennis club. @myrtle and @janet can witness this.

If that is bad news changed to good news by assuming a typo, then excellent !!!!!!!

I apologise for not giving the essential advice when buying something in Tenerife. ALWAYS LOOK IN THE BOX. Guaranteed something is missing. If you open a box in the shop, they give you a bollocking. If you don't, and have to bring it back, they tell you it's your responsibility because you should have checked what was in the box.  :banghead: :banghead:

Del - that has to be a typo - he meant "now" otherwise NAHOH would not be deleriously happy that she can do the washing up entirely alone.
