Helmets and hosepipes time again … the Virgen del Carmen cometh

Meanwhile Janet's and Perikle's village's antic have caused havoc in my house for hours.  Awful.  Scared doggies breaking into anything they can and barfing anywhere.  So glad to see the back of it.

They did the carrying the smaller virgin through the entire village thing this evening ... I ran into the procession just as I was about to get home ...

she's now blessed everywhere, her bigger version has seen the fireworks, the music's gearing up tonight but it should be the last night, and we've had the virgin-leaving second much-shorter firework display ...

and this time, it's all over before the heatwave and hot windy calima arrives!

The natives have been restless all night. There were random fireworks, then a noise consisting of African drums accompanied by some idiot shouting, coming up the hill until about 5.00, but I would not classify it as music. Utterly depressing.

Still, that shite is over for another year.
