Lucky beggar. I could never sleep because my bed was rattling from the bass, along with the rest of the building...

But in Palm Mar right now all I can hear are the crickets, the Spanish neighbours having some girly giggly discussion and the occasional aeroplane  :great:
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

and another year survived ... a ridiculous (to me) mix of religious pomp and crap Latino music, fire and noise, and money going up in smoke ...

pretty fireworks though, and now it's moved two plots away, it's effectively a private display for us ... as opposed to a demonstration of the battle of the somme ...

Janet

do you think if I asked them, they'd turn it up a bit? I'm not at all sure it can be heard well in La Gomera ... :undecided:

::)

I lived for a while in the wonderful complex known as Torres de J/Yomely right above Starco and Pleasure Island.  My bed was constantly vibrating and the windows rattling.

And before Toto and KB jump in ................................yes that too :whistle: :giggle:

When we used to go to Gomera I couldn't sleep for the quiet and the bloody crickets !!

All day today there has been the incessant noise from the village of the most tasteless crappy music imaginable. It's a Canarian village festival, so you might expect music related to their cultural heritage, which is not so bad. But no, it's a kind of rap (in English, so nobody understands the shite), the worst excuse for music in the universe. It makes me wonder who it is that decides on the kind of music on offer, and it's ironic that we have contributed financially to this shitefest.
