Sorry to hear you've been poorly. Hope you're starting to feel more yourself now and continue to improve

Thanks guys  :girlkiss:  I somehow managed to drag myself back to the doctor today and she gave me the baja and even backdated it to yesterday. Why she couldn't have done that yesterday I don't know.

The baja is good for a week, but since it starts from yesterday and there's a long weekend ahead, I have to go back on Thursday to either renew it or get the alta. At least I'll have a day in the middle where I don't have to go to the bloody doctors. I can't even make it to the kitchen without holding onto the walls to prop myself up, so god only knows how I made it to the doctor. But I'm in bed now and I have nearly 48 hours to stay here and sleep it off  :sleepinginbed:

Hope you are feeling better soon.  Remember to drink enough - non alcoholic I mean!

Nova

LOL, I couldn't face a glass of wine if my life depended on it!  For the last five days all I've drunk are water and Appletiser (when did that acquire the "r" by the way?  It was always "Appletise"  :undecided: )

Speaking as someone who has wasted countless hours dealing with them, it sounds like this system is designed to hammer the casual 'sickie' and unfortunately the genuinely sick suffer as well.

I'm also supposed to get my baja in to my employer as soon as possible. Which would be easy if I wasn't sick. Or had somebody to take it in for me. As it is they'll have to be satisfied with an emailed scanned copy until I'm well enough to go back to work and hand in the original.

WTF does that mean? "supposed to get it in ASAP" ... if someone is sick enough to get a baja they are too sick to take it in! ASAP means when you return to work.

Doesn't it???

As you say, an emailed copy proves its existence. For the rest, they're taking the mickey completely.

This is a real Catch 22 plan. There is the legal requirement to give them the original baja. But if you do that, then you are obviously well enough to get to the bank to do so, thus proving you are not ill. Makes total sense.  ;)

I came down with the flu yesterday morning.  The last time I felt this bad was when I came down with hepatitis 18 years ago.  The symptoms are nearly identical.  I hurt badly and everywhere.  I hope nobody else gets this stuff because it is  horrible.  My BP  rose to 143/74 at one point and my heart rate was  palpitations of 97 bpm.  The BP has come down to normal and I will continue to monitor it.  Temperature has been 38+ for over 24 hours.

Still not sure if I will live or die.

Off to take another gram of paracetemol which seems to help.
