The wife tried to get an appointment with the Social services in Santa Cruz yesterday. The MOL wants to put herself into a OAP home (don't know why, as sure as eggs are eggs she won't stay there for a week! but hey ho) So the wife thought it best to try and get her into a council run one. Hence the reason in trying to see a social worker first. This is what she was told by a woman she spoke to on the phone.

Due to staff cuts Social Services are not taking any appointments and won't be for the foreseeable future.

Good god, that is actually astonishing. So, just fuck off and forget about any social services. Ufff ... as they say ...

I suspect that most of the staff that are still employed are running just to stand still! They just seem to be running an emergency service.
