I was trying to think of a snappy title but couldn't think of one so. Spanish TV, its fair to say I don't watch a lot of TV, Spanish or UK. But there are one or two home grown Spanish programs I like to watch, as well as the news. In the summer the TV is rarely turned on, but as the nights draw in the TV gets turned on more frequently. I am sure this is the fact for most of Spain. So you would think that the Spanish TV companies would up their game over the winter. No not one bit in fact I think because they have a captive audience they decide to put the worst crap and nonsensical programs I have ever seen.

I refer to 'Adam and Eve' which entails a man and a woman put on an island somewhere and they have no clothes on! Sorry I have no other information as I could only watch it for a couple of seconds. Save to say its not a survival thing and they don't seem to be celebs. Nor do I know the point of it.

The next program I refer to is 'Killer Karaoke' Where members of the public engage in singing Karaoke style while having electric shocks, insects poured over them and other assorted snakes and lizards. Again I have no other information as I could only stand it for a very very short time. I have no idea as to the point of it but I assume there is a prize at the end.

Both these programs were on last night. What have we become?? :03:

I blame the Japanese ...

I remember years ago seeing Chris Tarrant, I think, making programmes about such Japanese programmes. The idea was that the Japanese were totally bloody insane ...

Now everyone's doing it, whether Killer Karaoke or I'm a celebrity get me out of here ...

It sounds interchangeable with British TV.

The Adam and Eve one sounds like the naked dating show I ready about.  And some woman who appeared on it is suing the production company because in one scene her genitals were not pixellated out.

I prefer the more highbrow shows like Strictly Come Dancing It Takes Two.

Either she was deformed or that was one hell of an unfortunate camera angle

I agree with Myrtle.  :great:

90% shite and repeats with just the odd good programme to make it worth having.

I would cite I'm a Celebrity, Big Brother, Geordie Shore, TOWIE, X-Factor and could probably think of a few more.

Depressing.  :undecided:

[countdown=01,06,2021,13,30][/countdown] until I return to Tenerife!

Even with Ann Widdecombe in it?  :tmi:

Nova

The only decent thing on Spanish television is The Simpsons and that isn't even Spanish!

The only thing I watch on UK television is NCIS and when I'm really bored things like Police Interceptors and the docusoap about bailiffs kicking people out of their homes is good for a "ha ha!" sometimes  :D

That said there's sometimes a good film to be found on Movistar TV.
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

Continuing with the theme that Spanish TV is wall to wall five-star shite, has anybody watched a programme called LOL on the FDF channel? It is a long series of clips that are (presumably) meant to be funny. Now I can usually see humour wherever it is. If I don't find something funny, it's not funny. But I'm beginning to suspect that the Spanish have an extremely under-developed sense of humour, because this programme has been running for a week now. Each scene seems to involve some situation which is just not funny. I've just seen somebody suicidal jump off a roof after somebody gives him a batman mask and a cloak. The next scene is a galley slave who escapes his chains and jumps overboard, to be eaten by a shark. LOL not.

No, I don't watch it.  Yes, you find the humour in anything and everything.

There's always Naked Attraction.
