Continuing with the theme that Spanish TV is wall to wall five-star shite, has anybody watched a programme called LOL on the FDF channel?

I've just watched a bit more. One sketch was the kitchen of a Japanese restaurant where they stretcher out a nude covered with food. Then it come back in again, and all that's left is bones....

The next sketch is a morgue, where a woman has to identify a stiff in a bank of fridge-type drawers. The mortician pulls open a drawer with a stiff in it, she looks, laughs, and spits in it. End of sketch, piped laughter.

WTF ?????????????

Could that be a good enough reason to sleep in a cave?

Having been in Tenerife for a few months, and spent ages channel flicking looking for something in English, i'm struck by the number of Spanish versions of British programmes. There's shed loads!

What are we doing to the poor Spanish?  :03:
[countdown=01,06,2021,13,30][/countdown] until I return to Tenerife!

Don't know if your telly has it but mine has a button and it puts the dialogue into the original language for most of these shows.

I was referring to Spanish terrestrial channels. Are you saying that this applies to them?

Marion

Yes, I have a button on my remote that changes the language.

Nova

I can change to original language on my Movistar channels, but I didn't think it was possible with Spanish terrestrial because you can only change language if the signal is transmitted with a choice of languages.  Even through my Movistar box I haven't managed to get TVE1, Telecinco, etc. in anything other than Spanish.  It's the Sky channels that have a VO option.
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

Well, holy schmoly. I can't believe it. Despite wot Nova has just said, I've found a button on the remote, one of 5674, which said "tools" with which I have managed to select "Spanish" or "original language". And a crappy western film dubbed in Spanish suddenly became a crappy western in American. And a documentary about rhinocetera reverted into the original incomprehensible mumbling in English, instead of badly synched incomprehensible Spanish.

After almost a decade of understanding nothing, imagining that it might be interesting, I can now be bored to death with the original crap.
