You mean Mb not Gb?? I've signed up for 300Mb symmetric but even if I don't actually get that it surely must be better than the 4Mb down, 0.4Mb up I'm getting at the moment...

but yeah, I still get excited at this stuff

Oops, Yup Mb not Gb. wow 300Mbs is fantastic, faster than anything here. Strange that NAH was saying 30Mbs was the maximum they were offered. You may even have to get win10 to cope with it.

Movistar offer two speeds of fibre: 50mb and 300mb. Of course I had to go for the big one

In the end they managed to reach the wall outlet without moving the cupboard so there was no problem at all

Screenshot below from speedtest.net. When I asked the technicians why I wasn't getting 300mbs they showed me on their computer that I was, well 297mbs to be exact. They said it's lower because I have an old computer

Still, I'm not complaining at 100

My Macbook has just given me 245 down and 216 up. I think it's time to re-prioritise building myself a new computer

Come on then spill the beans...did they pull the fibre through the existing co-ax conduit to behind the TV unit / cupboards, how did they manage to get to the wall plate without moving the units? Do you have an additional wall mounted outlet for the fibre?

Nice speed by the way, I bet you notice the difference between that and what you were getting

It turns out I did have a blank plate next to my old phone/ADSL socket that was just peaking out from behind the cupboard. They thought they were going to have to move the cupboard but in the end managed to do it just by pulling out the TV table and bending the wall plate out. We agreed it was better to risk snapping the wall plate than pulling out the cupboard and the guy actually managed to not snap the plate at all!

Yes, I have an additional box stuck on the wall (with glue!!) and I think that was the bit that took longest. Threading this micro-thin piece of fibre into the correct position in the box was like threading a really tiny needle.

I love the speed!! I'm streaming video at its original quality instead of the 320p that I've had to put up with

Only trouble is I now have to link up my wifi extender again, which is a pain in the ass because it involves me having to press a button on the router then immediately press a button on the extender, but the nearest point I can plug in the extender is about 10ft away. Ah well, I've done it before, I'm sure I can do it again... First world problems and all that
