Ah what a shame ... Matos came third in the primaries for PSOE presidential candidate. The actual PSOE candidate now standing against Clavijo is Patricia Hernandez.

I'm enjoying this even more now ... it's CC party conference time, and they're discussing the new manifesto ... and trying to get Rivero to stay away! They say it's "pointless" because he's not going to be heading the new manifesto because he's not going to be fighting the election, and of course, that's true, but that's not the only reason! He's been doing all sorts to humiliate the party, infuriating the party hierarchy because he's undermining their election campaign before it's even started ... the last thing they want is for him to have a public and official platform to do it, which is what the party conference would give him.

This is fun!! :D

:D

There is discreet silence from the Rivero camp, but as of today one can only imagine their jubilation at the news that the replacement presidential candidate, Fernando Clavijo, has been imputed (named as a formal suspect)  for investigation of various "offences" while in office. Clavijo, current mayor of La Laguna, says that he is convinced that all his actions have been in accordance with the law, and that his official behaviour has been "scrupulous". He says, moreover, that his previous two imputations have been cleared up without any guilt being attributed. What, if anything, the Rivero camp knew of these accusations in advance of the imputation, which Clavijo said he only found out about today, is of course unknown. JA

And by god are they regretting it! She is making a total balls-up of it, and the PSOE here are getting very uneasy about their electoral chances, despite their main CC opposition having deselected the current president for a candidate on corruption charges ... :D

The socialists have saddled themselves with a right ignoramus! They were probably trying to be "with it", and get someone young, and female ... appeal to the old men who normally vote for them ...

Matos might have his chance yet!!

HERE is an explanation in English of what the problem is with this candidate! It's short and funny ... have a read!  :tiphat:

And here she is admitting on live TV that she has no idea what the GDP of the Canary Islands is.

Followed by an attempt to rectify . . . by talking about little lines that go up up up and little lines that go down down down.
