Woman dies after falling into Icod reservoir tank

A 68-year-old woman died this morning after falling into a water reservoir tank in Camino de La Punta in Icod de los Vinos. Police say that everything indicates the fall was accidental and the result of losing her balance while picking figs. Family quickly went to search for her when she failed to return home, and she was found floating in the water. Bomberos pulled her to dry land but all attempts at resuscitation failed, and she was declared dead at the scene. An autopsy will be carried out to confirm the cause of death. JA
