Does this mean OH and I should consider a life insurance policy in case one of us kicks the bucket? 

Does anyone come around and view or value assets besides real estate and bank accounts?  I am wondering if people hide assets, like jewelry, in order to avoid inheritance tax.

Nova at her age, would have no interest in this inheritance tax problem, but I just wonder what our older members have done to insulate them for this awful tax. My solution was to sell up before it happened. Now probably going to live till 129 years old. :whistle: :whistle:

I'd be interested though.  I intend to have a will drawn up next time I go to the UK so I can get a Spanish one to match.  Recent events have highlighted the importance of making things as easy for next of kin as possible, just in case...

Sensible but. whoever your beneficiaries are, they will be liable for the inheritance tax.

From a pure practicality standpoint I couldn't agree more, probate is a headache to deal with.
