Oh God! you've already got me in a tizz left and right mouse. This is all ground breaking stuff for me, well it would be if I hadn't tried it all before......... And failed! But tomorrow I'll give it another go and see what happens.

did you ask if you had to and were told no?

Nobody ever told us we had to.  So we did not.

And since I have had the digital signature I just print out the residencia at will.  Piece of cake.

Even when it turned out I was not on the Censo for the municipal elections in May, they simply looked me up on the computer, told me what to do, no suggestion of reregistering etc.  And OH was on the Censo. 

We have not been stopped at any point, is the point.

Some of you may remember that my infamous Windows 10 upgrade killed of my old PC.

On the new PC, I am trying to access the national network but Firefox keeps bitching about the security of the connection and I cannot get in to download my certificate. 

Technical support appears to be nothing more than FAQs.  Any ideas on which way to turn?  Go to the Ayuntamiento and watch people scratch their heads?   Give up and go pay my road tax in person?

Sorry for the stupid question but did you not save a backup of your certificate elsewhere?

Nope, not a stupid question. The answer is however.  No, I didn't know I needed one.

can you find the original email they sent with the download? and then try clicking on the link again?

That email sank with the former ship.

So are you now using a completely different computer?  Can you not access the data on your old computer to export the certificate from your old browser?  If not I think you may have to go through the whole certificate request procedure again....  At least generate a new request code before you go and visit your friends in the Ayuntamiento.

Note to self:  make second backup of certificate to independent device....

I can't even find my digital certificate on my computer ... it's on here somewhere but I don't know where it downloaded to, so can't make a backup.
