The yellow helicopter came low over the Balcón 20 minutes ago.  It spent some time near Los Gigantes, near the harbour from the sound.  It then headed toward Teno.  Given the bands of rain, visibility is only a few hundred metres, so I can't imagine they are out for a jolly or training.  Time will tell.

I'm surprised they're flying at all.  ::)

flying round in circles at the moment between Mt Tejina and Tijoco Alto ... seems to be focusing on the upper reaches of the barranco de Erques ... :shrug:

I was going to recommend the Masca Barranco to my German neighbours at La Pinta but I thought the helicopter crew deserved a day off.  :whistle:

I was going to come on to complain about the rescue helicopter buzzing over the Balcón this morning and interrupting my sleep.  I was hoping there was an elderly German with multiple injuries.  Now I see on Janet's site that it was the rescuers helping some fool who entered the closed Masca barranco and the rescuers had ended up spending the night with him as they couldn't safely get him out last night.  I hope they slap him with the bill.  Idiot.

Don't get excited; I just thought I would post how noticeable it is that since they closed the barranco, we don't see the rescue helicopters at least three times a week.  In fact, we no longer see them at all.  It makes you realise how many accidents there used to be.  They did the right thing in closing it to make it safer.

I always thought of it as the Masca Express.  ::)

You've jinxed it! Somebody on Facebook has just reported it flying overhead going south and a Fire engine going south too.  We heard the helicopter earlier.
