Heard a helicopter earlier ano hearing it again. Seems to be staying in the one place according to the sound.

Sorry for the late arrival to report what I could see.  It came about half an hour ago and it looked to have landed by the lido.  It was not the yellow or yellow and blue gobierno copter.  It kept the blades running.  About 15 minutes or so ago, it rose, and hovered over the harbour at Los Gigantes.  It stayed low and in the same place for about 10 minutes.  Now it has left but I can still hear it.

I suspect it is not a rescue.  Could it be they are filming something?

Nova

I can hear it now.  Is that possible??  It's definitely either a helicopter or a lawnmower  :giggle:  I can't see it, I think the buildings are in the way.  It sounds like it's over in the Los Cristianos direction...
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

No, it's a lawnmower!  :giggle:  Not really, it's a little yellow maintenance vehicle with an flashing amber light on top.  I can't see what it's doing but it seems to only move a few inches each time then stop again, and it's making a hell of a noise!!!

Janet

just posting this now ...

A Coastguard helicopter rescued a man from the sea today after he fell into the water behind the Hotel Los Gigantes. The rescued man was collected from the rocks and taken to the Adeje helipad. There'll be further information in due course, I'm sure.

edit: this is the helicopter:

Three police cars and an ambulance all with sirens and lights have just gone up in the direction towards the Barcelo Santiago.

Myrtle Hogan-Lance

That is indeed the helicopter.  I do not know if it is related but at least two ambulances have gone through the area (could hear but not see) a minute ago.

The ambulances are wasted ... he's already in Adeje! Just waiting on 112 to inform about the follow-on.
