Quote from: Guanche on Tue 31 Dec 2013, 13:49Someone mentioned the PP party in a derogatory way the reaction of my dick head of a brother in law was to verbally abuse the person at the top of his voice who had dared to utter the criticism for about 15 min then he lectured every one on the merits of the PP party. In my fucking house!!!

Why didn't you chuck the arsehole out? I would done, after explaining what I think about the PP.

I was under orders and had the wife with a rolling pin standing right behind me!! A few years ago I would have thrown him out. But now a bit older and wiser I say why stop a dick head from proving he's a dick head all on his own. Plus I'm used to him, he nearly caused a fight at our wedding reception I have yet to pay him back for. Its not the first time he's gone off on one. The thing is he's the eldest male member of the family so it gives him the god given right to say and do as he pleases in true machista Spanish style.

Because not even a dickhead should ruin your barbecue, even if the wife thinks it's OK. Elsewhere it would be different.

That's the thing about N.Ireland. Everybody knows all our politicians are arseholes so nobody cares what anyone says about them.  ::)

Your absolutly right P but the wife wasn't protecting him it was me! She didn't want me to end up in the cells because I wouldn't be content in just throwing him out and she knows that. :021:

Very sensible article in El País, but heavy going.

This might turn out to be a well-aimed shot in the foot for the PP. A poll has revealed that 78% of voters think that the new law is unnecessary. 86% think that a woman should be able to choose freely, and of these, 68% are PP voters and 60% are practising catholics.

The way in which these statistics are represented is of course completely bewildering, but the underlying figures are undeniable, that the PSOE would win the next election with the unpopularity of this proposed law.

A peticion signed by 1150 prominent Spanish women says that the proposed law is a massive step backwards for women's freedom.

I just don't believe these arseholes. One of the arguments they are using for changing the law and dragging Spain back into the Dark Ages is that the new law would have a positive economic effect. Why? Because it would increase the birthrate, which would be good for the economy.

I find it just unbelievable that they find this relevant.
