That has been the norm in the Republic of Ireland for a long time. Less so in the North but still not straightforward.

You're right though, I've said before that a former "friend" of my sister had had 4 abortions by the time she was 22. Maybe if she'd had to pay 8k a time she might have been a bit more responsible.
