Seems I'm going to be doing a radio slot for a 2013 news roundup with Clio next week ... so what do you think have been stories of the year?

Nova

I'd say the Arona lifeguards is a biggie and whatever you're allowed to say about the illegal lettings fines that have been overturned  :tiphat:
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

Nova has the best suggestions I think.

There's always the casting calls you make then refuse to give people parts.

The Mayor of Arona banned from office for corruption. His whole party in court for perversion of justice for supporting him illegally as Mayor for 3 months . . . . oh no, you won't be allowed to mention that. Sorry.

Janet

well I dunno ... can't be a year round-up without a mention of Arona ...  :tiphat:

Nova

As a bit of non-political relief you could remind people of the girl who caught fire at the Carnaval.

I'm still trying to think of something positive and upbeat  :017:

That's on the list ...  :tiphat:

So far I also have ...  (but with limited time, and Clio having her own ideas, we'll not be able to cover this lot) :

Illegal letting
Arona
Hospital, ring road, primark ... still waiting
Carnival disaster
loss of consul
5 missing men
Baby in freezer, baby in arico dump

But ALSO :

No major forest fires, no tropical storms ... no cayucos, or rather one, I think, in las galletas in august
First beach in Tenerife for dogs opened in Guimar – beginning of august
Callao beach at last has bar, sunbeds and parasols
Guaza boot sale closed
Tenerife has new president
Brilliant tourism figures, upmarket push bearing fruit, etc
Unemployment figures ending year on a bit of hope
General clampdowns on "antisocial behaviour"
Tenerife in Jamie magazine out now for xmas

El Profesor

:08: Love the positive angle, but the bit about the Mayor is part of the positive . . . the corruption is being tackled, albeit slowly.
Don't let them stiffle that message.

Janet

I'm on Radio Sur Adeje in about 20 mins. at 1.10pm, for that news roundup ...

Hopefully it will be uploaded on the station's website at some point and then I'll link to it. The prof will be proud of me though, I got the corruption in, and compared Arona to Marbella ...

:tiphat:

Nova is there any way of saving that in case the link disappears at some point??
