From 7pm yes ... this is a model of what's coming overnight. Redder it is, the stronger the wind.

Despite the usual gamut of "it's just a bit of wind there's worse in blah town in England in midsummer" idiots on Facebook, the storm has, after all, cost one life. Emergency services are saying that a 53-year-old man has died in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria after being hit last evening by a falling sheet of metal. He was initially thought not to be seriously injured, just suffering facial wounds, but he has died this morning in Hospital de Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín.

Bloody hell, that must have been after I left.  You can see the big space right in front where the huge metal billboard was before it blew down beside my car.
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

We just had a friend in Tijoco Bajo phone to say we may want to check our solar panels as the wind has just blown his off his roof.  He thinks he's getting gusts in excess of 150kph.  You can't stand in his garden and the wind keeps blowing over his poor confused 15 year old dog.
