That's the biggest thing I miss about Tenerife: the weather. It's so grey and depressing all the time in southern England.

You're not kidding :)

The wind really picked up overnight and the house is whistling like a kettle.  Shutters banging.  Things blowing around outside.  We had a recent gust of 52.6kph but I'm sure that is not the highest one.  When is spring coming?

Janet

one site I saw last night said there'd be a 12º or so drop in temperatures today with another polar "flare" ... ditto to the bloody wind ...

:windy:

Yes that's what I said on Tuesday (Reply #767 and 772).

but let's be very clear that any rain we get today (or wind) has nothing at all to do with the yelllow alert in place on Tuesday. This is a completely different front . . .  coming from a different direction (Tues from North Africa - Today coming down from just East of the Azores).

Pointless alerts, climatiic hypochondria and counterproductive hysteria as usual (last Tuesday).

Might rain a bit today and it will be blustery. No big deal, it will be much worse next Tuesday.

If it makes you feel any better, we had gusts here recently of 129kph.  :giggle:
[countdown=01,06,2021,13,30][/countdown] until I return to Tenerife!

How weird. 19 deg in Los Cris today. 21.5 in E. Kent. And it's only March. Looking at some of your comments on the recent Tenerife Winters. How long can it be marketed as a sunny warm Winter destination? :017:

Janet

Really, I think it's a while since it's been able to be (honestly) marketed as that! But it's still a decent destination for the winter generally!
