Tenerife Weather

Just flown back to El Hierro from Los Rodeos, (Eye treatment), there was a Calima when we arrived this morning, but even worse on the return journey, no land visible on Tenerife. Low cloud here in Valverde.

In the Puerto Santiago/Los Gigantes area, it's rolled in since morning.  Kicking myself for not having taken an hourly picture.  At the moment you can't see to Teno (no remarks about it being dark, you couldn't before 2000).  The cliffs are very obscured.

After getting worse yesterday after I posted with visibility reducing to 3300 metres the calima has cleared slightly this morning on GdS with Montana Roja now just visible.

The locals tell me there has been a severe storm in the Sahara that has kicked up all the dust. Slight haze here on El Hierro and believe it or not, two minutes ago it was trying to rain.

Now 31 degrees on the balcony overlooking Lower GDS marina.The calima as cleared and can now see  up to Teide.
