We had a late shower yesterday, sunny spells now though.

What the hell has happened to the weather in Tenerife, whenever I look at the cameras its cloudy, with empty beaches, and facebook has been full of moans and groans for weeks. :017:

It's been mostly awful.  I have never known it to continue to be this cold, windy and overcast at this time of year.  And there is no end in sight!

I think it is going to get warmer this week with at least a bit more sun, but this weather has been horrible!

Surely there has to be a knock on effect to that in terms of tourist figures?

Yes, there is @Michael, and it's wonderful.  They are staying in their units and not clogging the pavements.  They are keeping themselves and their miserable offspring inside so you don't have a 12-hour-per-day screamfest down below.  Really, I could stand this weather for the rest of the time I have to spend at the godforesaken Balcón.

It really is very quiet all over. Tamaimo Tropical seems to have a lot of empty rooms and the Barcelo is doing a major refurb on quite a number of rooms (skips of rubble etc!) so the numbers are down there too.

Plus they're less likely to come back next year when i'm there.  :08:

Don't know about the 'nuisance holidaymakers ' but lots of us are totally peeed of with this unusual weather this May
We're almost guaranteed decent sun here in May ( only last 30years) so very peeved this year especially when dear old Scotland has had much better weather
Future  under consideration
