It is indeed, but I can't help but think it was also foolhardy ...

Santa Cruz = Sauna. God it's hot and humid down there. Glad to be back home it's just right

I must comment that the whole point of a sauna is that the air is very dry. The temperature is usually between 90 and 110 centigrade, so you would burn if the air were moist.  :tiphat:

North Tenerife and altitude is on orange alert for heavy rainfall, but already overnight the rains in the north have caused a fair amount of flooding and chaos on the roads with over 100mm/h falling.  The alert ends at 3pm this afternoon but as the forecasters said a little while ago, this unsettled weather is here for some time. ... and that's 186 years to the day since THIS storm ...

Why do people pour water on those hot stones?

Why do people pour water on those hot stones?

So that for a minute or so at the end of a 10-15 minute session the body feels the force of the moist air and everybody breaks out in a sweat. Then straight into a cold dip to achieve a maximum fast cooling effect. Lots of people can't take the water pouring bit and leave beforehand.

It's been dry as an autumn day in Tenerife here  :girlautumn:  Not a scent of rain  :undecided:
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

It's been very windy here today with some really strong gusts. Bright dry and on the warm side out of the wind.

Haven't seen anyone else mention it, but, due to yesterday's storm, Teide was covered with snow today.  It was majestic.
