To add to Aemet's yellow alert for high winds and rough seas, Tenerife now also has a yellow alert for high temperatures for tomorrow and Monday, between 11am and 8pm. Temperatures are expected to reach 34º tomorrow and 35º on Monday.

They lied ...

they said today was the worst of this spell with it cooling down from tomorrow, now they're saying that "today, and especially tomorrow" are the hottest days, starting to cool down on Saturday. What happened to Friday? And why "especially" tomorrow? Will it actually be hotter tomorrow? That surely isn't actually bloody possible ...

:toohot:

37º in the shade here ...

And finally, after some horrendous heat in Tenerife, especially in the medianías, the Canarian Government is lifting its high temperatures alert from midnight tonight. Temperatures are expected to reduce from Sunday to levels that could be expected at this time of year. At present, on Friday evening, it is raining in the caldera as convection clouds gather.

Marion

Glad my medianias are in Scotland right now.  ;)

The thermometer in the kitchen says it's 27º which is a drop of several degrees, and outside is misty and COOL!!!!!!!!!!

And here too. Maybe I could even risk a wee walk tomorrow?
[countdown=01,06,2021,13,30][/countdown] until I return to Tenerife!

Apparently some of us could be in for a bit of stormy weather, particularly at high levels, with tropical humid air resulting from the clash of a depression in the Atlantic and warm air from Senegal (that's how meteorologists describe it). The pic below is their graphic. Here we can feel it! It's getting cloudy, wind's getting up, air is humid ...

OH FOR A SHOWER OR THREE ... :D
