Aemet has forecast a "polar depression" arriving in the Canaries from tomorrow bringing cold weather and strong winds ... strong enough to issue a yellow alert in Tenerife between 6am and 6pm Saturday for gusts of up to 70 km/h. Aemet's also drawn attention to its safety advice HERE

Janet

Aemet has now brought forward its yellow alert for high winds to today, Friday, and upgraded Saturday's alert to orange for winds gusting to 90km/h particularly in the morning.

Good Grief have you seen the floods in Malaga

Janet

waist deep in some parts! One bloke was rescued from the roof of his car, with his dog, by the Guardia in a helicopter ...

one woman's died after being swept away ...

They were on Red Alert for rain. That's only the second time I've seen that in Spain. I've seen two others for Winds, one in Galicia and one here a few years ago, but never for Rain. That's what one's like, then!

They're reporting a second death now, an Electricity company worker was swept away in his car as he was heading to do some repair work.

From The Local.es

QuoteA 26-year-old-woman from Romania drowned in a basement strip club in Estepona after it rapidly filled with water. Emergency services went to her escue but were unable to reach her before the basement filled with water.

Very likely enforced prostitution.  A miserable life followed by a miserable death.  RIP
