Same as an awning then? And trust you to have a remote control version.  :giggle:

:D

Yes, but there are no sides on it, just the awning roof  :great:
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

.......an electric one that extends and rolls itself back in with the push of a button on the remote  :great:

But does it have an iPhone app to control it, now that would be  :s_cool:

It's been raining in north Tenerife today, so the forecasts are right so far. This weekend, though, an approaching Atlantic weather front is due to bring heavier rain, particularly in the western islands, as can be seen in the animation below from Efemérides Meteorológicas Canarias. No doubt there will be updated forecasts over the next few days but we need some rain!!

I wondered what the hell an efeméride was; in Greek it is a newspaper.  Apparently in Spanish it is an almanac.  Learn something new every day.

How many times do I have to tell you I speak δεμοτικί?

Christsakes Perikles, we really are going to have to go to Athens one day and see who can complete a scrounge hunt.  Actually, I think it would be the hoot of a lifetime.

The first real weather front of the winter 2016-17 season started to be forecast earlier this week, with the main front arriving from this weekend. And on time, the Canarian Government has this morning issued a pre-alert, based on Met Office predictions, for high winds at altitude in Tenerife and La Palma. The alert comes into effect at 10am tomorrow, and no doubt there will be further updates on this weather system over the next few days.

@Myrtle Hogan-Lance I agree! You can leave me in the agora while you do your scrounge hunt (what is a scrounge hunt anyway?) ...at the Plaka corner ... there are some lovely little souvlaki joints there among the tat shops!
