The yellow alert for heat ends at 6pm this evening ... so there'll be a bit of a break in this. It's suffocating.

There was a strong wind blowing round these parts this morning.  I had to wind my toldo in and hay was blowing all over the place as I cleaned Toby out, but there was some refreshment in it at least.  The wind quickly passed though and now we just have this still, close, smothering heat.  It's horrible.
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

It gets a lot of newbies that one.  We who come from a wet climate just aren't used to drinking water.  I found it really hard going when I first decided to drink 2 litres of water each day, I didn't think anybody could drink that much!  A couple of weeks in it was just natural to me and now I recognise very easily when I'm thirsty.  Especially in this weather you have to be very conscious of the need to drink far more water than you usually would.

Have you seen THIS??  :D

She couldn't find a vein so i've got some special stuff to drink over 2 days. It seems to be working though. I'm feeling a lot better.

Remind me to show you my pin cushion impression some time.
