Aemet has given an update, in which the met office says that the period of marked instability will probably be with us until Sunday 23rd. Today's front bringing rain and low temperatures is quite active, resulting in scattered heavy showers, being persistent in some areas. The front is currently displacing eastwards.

The major depression that is still forming near the archipelago will maintain this instability over the next few days, which means it remains highly likely that there will be scattered rainfall, locally heavy in some places, with high winds. Aemet says that the uncertainty over how and where the depression develops means that it cannot predict more specifically the areas which will be affected.

The situation should start to stabilize from Monday.

So the massive storm has now become a high probability of scattered rainfall.

Happily the rain last night was vertical where I am . . . .  no wind, so it didn't come in through the windows.

This page is really good if you've got the washing out.

Yes, OK ... daily updates on my site while the weather lasts.  :tiphat:

I look forward with interest to the day when there is no weather at all  :tiphat:

Guanche

19deg occasional light showers. No wind, patchy cloud cover which is quite high as I can still see the mountains. Sea looks calm.

El Profesor

It's gone all quiet here. i reckon they're in for a pretty crappy weekend in the north . . . . well, blustery and showers, which could be deemed a disaster area by the authorities.

Guanche

16deg, low solid cloud and constant light rain. No wind.

Nova

Warm sunshine, blue skies but a very blustery wind down here!
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

Guanche

Since my last report things have warmed up to a nice 20deg. Rain stopped with patchy blue sky with the sun doing its best to shine through.

They can wheel out their Plan Territorial Insular de Emergencias de Tenerife (PEIN) again next Thursday . . . It'll be good for the elections.
