We were supposed to have had around 7.5-10mm and got 22.2.  Now gusting to around 40kph.  The house is whistling like a banshee.  Sick to death of it.  Is this Tenerife?

I take it you mean today, Sunday?

Thankfully I was in the land of nod when the winds and rain struck, but judging by the mess in the garden this morning it must have been quite strong. After yesterdays weather which culminated in a white out for most of the evening, and later the mini storm, its clear blue skies 19deg and a slight breeze blowing off the sea. This is more like it!

Aemet has forecast high winds tomorrow for Tenerife, and the rest of the Canaries. Gusts of up to 70km/h are predicted, particularly in the medianías and at altitude. A yellow alert has been issued which will be in place until 6am Friday morning.

Aemet has issued a forecast for the first real heatwave of 2014. From Sunday, a calima bringing temperatures of up to 37º could last for the whole week. Please do read my page HERE on staying safe in heatwaves in Tenerife.

Any chance you could delay that for a couple of weeks?
[countdown=01,06,2021,13,30][/countdown] until I return to Tenerife!

Over in the west we have been having the strangest weather for the past two days.  Lots of mist rolls in day and night, and equally quickly, rolls out again when the time is right (I don't know how to identify that moment).  One minute we have clear blue sky and the next we are in the mist.  Supposedly we are having a calima but the temperature outdoors has ranged from 23 this morning to 17-19 this afternoon.  There is a lot of light - sitting at 119K lux now (OH figures we need 30K lux to heat the water in the solar water heater).

Yesterday just before 0800 I went for a run and it was clear.  I got less than a k down the main road and ran into a wall of mist inside of which visibility was down to 100m.  It was very eerie and I felt as if I had stepped into the Bermuda triangle.  A while later, I ran out of the mist.  As the sun came over the lip of the caldera, the mist dissipated.

All very strange.

Yellow alert for extreme weirdness in place until 6:15 Thursday evening.

Guanche

19deg but very over cast and quite strong winds making it feel colder than it really is. Thick cloud cover on the mountains. Shorts back in the wardrobe and jeans back out!

Janet

We've had a fire the last two days!!!  :-X

Warming up again from tomorrow, they say!  :undecided:
