Not sure Janet I think about 450mt I took a couple of photos. Just going to have a look at them and if they are any good I'll send them to you via e-mail. You know what I'm like trying to do anything technical on a computer!!

Meanwhile, Aemet has extended its orange alert for high winds and wild seas to include tomorrow. All access roads to Teide are closed. The public is advised to take extreme caution near the coast where waves of 5-6 metres are expected.  Winds are said to be "near gale", force 7 on the Beaufort scale, gusting strong to very strong. well we have another lull up here now but it has been utterly wild. I can't measure our gusts but they're up there with the worst we've had.

Fricken freezing here!!!! can't even get outside to check the thermometer. The wind seems to be blowing straight through the bloody walls! Heavy showers and still occasional sleet. Cloud cover quite low. Very strong gusting winds.
