It's grey and spotting here.  I saw people milling around under umbrellas but they just looked stupid.
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

Adeje mayor José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga has activated Cecopal (the Centro de Coordinación Operativa de Emergencias - municipal emergency coordination centre) Municipal and essentially closed the council and all its official and municipal acts. Mayor Fraga said the decision allowed for better reaction to the weather situation and coordination with other emergency organizations. He urged the public to remain calm, and follow official advice and instructions. These include staying at home and avoiding all but essential travel. Adeje's tourism authorities have sent a communication to the entire hotel sector about the weather alert and the cancellation of outdoor and excursion activities, and have recommended that tourists remain indoors in their holiday accommodation.

They're really going to town on this one, aren't they?  ::)

Well, they can hardly issue an alert can they? They do that every two weeks.

Mine has morphed into a state of bemusement - talking to people - they are really scared. The people are really scared of this rainstorm.

The wind has gone, by the way, won't be back.

No it has not gone.  We still have gusts around 50kph and the house is still whistling.  5.1mm of rain today.  The weather station zeroes out at midnight so the next amount I report will be from then.

You won't get the horizontal rain of recent years, the strong wind has gone.

Nova

We have a sickly yellow light, dark and menacing, thunder and lightning and the lights just flickered....

Here, it is only gusting to 24.5kph.

We have had 24mm of rain in the past hour.

Lots of thunder and lightening.

I am up posting because I had to get out of bed although I was looking forward to staying there, because my dog who is terrified kept jumping onto the bed.

Sorry but we did have phenomenally strong winds in the night, and horizontal rain ... it all got really rather nasty around 6.30 ...
