Yes you can with a swampcooler! 

Google it . I have seen them in action in the USA and they really work .

When I ever get a finca at altitude I will immediatly make a bigg one and install it to cool down .

You will not have any dust inside as the air gets filtered tru a water filter and then blown inside , cooling and back out another open window .

I had a swamp cooler in my apartment in Arizona, well known for very high temperatures and very low humidity.  They definitely do work.  If I had one now it would be on.

More quickly than I hoped, the orange alert has thankfully been reduced to yellow. The heatwave will still be with us, it seems, until the weekend, but not at the severe intensity of the last few days.

Hot wind here in Silencio 37,5 c now at 12.30 and 42% humidety .  Looks like a calima . . . .

tail end of the heatwave we've had for the last ten days or so ... it'll blow itself out today apparently, and be a bit cooler tomorrow.

Here at the coast we dident have it that bad like you higher up . Seems the seahumidety really cools it here . Just today we have a really hot and abouve 30 c . . .    38,5 now in the shade at 13.00.  . Time to start my swampcooler . . .

The wind stopt and its back to a cool 32c. Now . 13.45 .

It's on its way out, at last. Throughout the course of this evening and tomorrow we will finally see temperatures start to go down. The above picture shows the fresher air ploughing straight down from the cooler north to displace the African hot air that has been settled over us for about the last ten days. Hallelujah! JA

Can't come soon enough for me.  Temp here still 33 and 32 inside.  I can't do anything and the bottoms of my feet are sweating when I am sitting still.
